King Ranch Shoreline

The West side shoreline of the upper Laguna Madre is primarily the King Ranch Shoreline. Begins at the mouth of Baffin Bay and ends close to the power plant which encompasses several miles of real estate. Enjoy catching Speckled Trout and Redfish usually year round. Best fishing in February, March, April and May.

Wade fishing is the preferred method with miles of waist deep water to select your fishing spot. You can also drift fish through 2-3 foot water or anchor up when you find the spot where their hitting. The King Ranch Shoreline also holds rocks & grassy areas where fish like to hang out and visit with each other.

Marina's

Here are some of the Great Places to Begin Your Trip! The following marina's shown carry live & dead bait. Tackle, food and beverages area available to make your trip enjoyable.

We recommend the following locations for all of your boating, bait and fish cleaning needs.

You can boat launch from any of the above Marina's. Another option that many anglers use is launching their boats at Bird Island. This is located in the Padre Island National Seashore park. It will cost you an entrance fee, but will get you closer to Baffin Bay. BEWARE OF LIMITED PARKING SPACES especially on weekends. There are no services at Bird Island so get your bait, gas and snacks before you leave.
